Chrysalis Changeling Queen G4 custom Pony by Oak23 Chrysalis Changeling Queen G4 custom Pony by Oak23
And here she is, done and with her proper wings. Man, this is the MOST complicated custom I ever attempted and probably will not be ever doing again unless I decide my skill level has risen significantly.

She is a molded hair Celestia body with hooves and neck extended with milliput, with a Fluttershy head glued on and with the added bits done in Milliput. It involved massive amounts of sanding, carving and filling in. Her crown growth thing was made with wires and embellished with more milliput.

Her wings are made from ironed plastic bags, a technique which was shown to me on Ponychan /merch/ which I have to say gives it the effect I really wanted. It's translucent rather than completely clear, it's thin but definitely not fragile and it was super easy to cut out the holes and shape with it cracking or tearing like the attempts I tried with the clear plastic.

Anyways, I'm happy to be done with her and I'll take a pic of all my canon Alicorn customs after I finish my Fausticorn custom. Yes.

Don't worry, be patient because sometime this fall Hasbro is sending out a toyline that includes a Queen Chrysalis blindbag toy in a set. XD

Not to mention but there's also going to be a limited time only Nightmare Moon toy,it uses the same model as the Princess Celestia too. I've also heard that there's also going to be a whole bunch of more merchandise coming throughout this year as well.

From what I've seen in a few Youtube videos of the toy fair in NY, the Nightmare Moon looks really show accurate, along with a few other pony figures as well. I did see some Princess Twilight stuff too, but they don't look very show accurate, I don't think that anyone would buy the Princess Twilight figure that's also the same model of the Princess Celestia Talking figure because it looks so horrible and plus, not show accurate.

A few other fan favorite ponies: [link]

There will also be an epic Shadowbolt Rainbow Dash: [link]
Even more pony stuff: [link]

And the last bit of pony stuff: [link]

By looking at all those figures I literally had my jaw wide open when I saw them. So show accurate!

Not to be a total dork, but you're one of the most talented pony moders I've seen on Deviantart. You're so great with your sculpting and painting. I love your work, keep it up!

This is verey nicely done; great quality.
The material for the wings is an especially nice touch. That looks like it would be quite difficult (but I have basically no experience with this kind of thing, so what do I know).

She looks incredible. :D Can you expand on the plastic bag method/link to the thread on Ponychan? It sounds really intriguing and I think I might want to incorporate it into my own customs.

Sure! Here's the thread: [link] I used the first link CometTail gave me, which was this one [link]

Like it says in the thread this creates a light airy sort of plastic fabric which pretty much is perfect for what I wanted :D Hoped that helped!

:icontwilightclapplz: She's Beautiful! The wings really do look great. I had no idea you can iron plastic bags or make them look so nice!

Yeah, you just have to use wax paper to make sure it doesn't stick to the iron or ironing board and experiment with the heat settings, but yeah! It makes pretty nice material to work with.

I have no idea what I would use it for but I definitely would be interested in trying that at some point! Hmm and I'm guessing there's some interesting results you can get with different bags. Can you also include something else between the wax paper and plastic to make it look different or give it texture?

Well I used these instructions [link] and some of the comments in it did say they try putting bits of crayon and such to create interesting effects in between the plastic so there's that. I dunno I guess it's really trial and error with this method.
